The 8th grade girls opened the 2020 season at home. The B team played a tough Ram squad. Holt started out fast and pulled out to a 47-26 victory over the home Comets. The Comets were led by Braelyn Jackson-Pointer with 15 points. Olivia Dodge contributed 5. The A team game started out in close contest and the teams were tied after the first quarter at 10. GL defense then held the Rams to 4 second quarter points to take a 19-14 lead at the half. The third quarter GL continued their tireless defense while the offense out paced the Rams 17-6 in the quarter. They cruised to a 50-31 win. The Comets had 4 players in double figures. Alayna Armstrong scored 16, Olivia Navin 12, Grace Pribble and Maddy Bartlett each had 10. Both teams travel to face Ionia on Monday.
